Couplings compensate for axial, radial, and angular misalignment between motor and gearbox . 

They can compensate shaft misalignment as a result of inaccurate mounting, setting of foundation, or changes in height or length due to thermal influence.

Specially, the high elastic coupling is a highly flexible rubber fabric coupling,  the torque range of this series Being 8 KNm to 240 kNm. It is able to compensate extremely large offsets in every direction without generating wear. The torque transmission of the high elastic coupling is absolutely free from backlash. It is suitable to absorb torque peaks and damps occurring vibrations.
 
The barrel couplings consists of a flange enclosures with semicircular internal gear and a clutch hub with external teeth of same form, as well as a series of hardened steel roller, the barrels which are between the two parts. Two caps are fixed at the sides with adequate gaskets and care for sealing the interior. Axial play of barrel roller in the housing is defined through two clamp rings on the hubs which are fixed on both sides of gear teeth.
